A wildflower woodblock artwork, every gorgeous detail captured in timeless Navy blue and white.
Inspired by the Unconventional beauty of proteas and waratahs, the floral design blends the quirkiness of both flowers. The design is painted onto the indigo blue surface and delicate details are brought to life in white ink.
So, what's a woodblock painting?
The woodblocks are rescued from their fate as off cuts in a timber yard, cut to 12 x 17 cms, sanded and sealed up in preparation for their new life as an archival artwork. Once that process is complete a flower inspired by Australian Wildflowers is scratched into the surface of the wet paint and then the laborious but totally meditative process of picking out the details with white ink begins. When each one of a kind artwork is complete the painting is then sealed and prepared for life in a home where flowers never die. They are a gorgeous contemporary piece that look fantastic by themselves or in a gallery wall style vignette.
Each artwork is an original piece, created with love from scratch by Australian artist Rebecca Coulter. Every design has it's own little twist on a theme, no two are exactly alike. The first person to buy will buy the woodblock pictured, the others under this listing will have a slight difference to the woodblock pictured, as no two are exactly the same. (But pretty close).
You can hang your gorgeous new artwork with an adhesive backed hook that won't damage your walls. You can purchase them at any supermarket or hardware store.
